Inmates at the Division of Corrections are post convicted offenders who have been sentenced to either misdemeanant convictions for 11 months and 29 days or felony convictions for up to 12 years.
Felons receive monthly credits that reduce their sentences while misdemeanants serve 50% of their sentences unless otherwise specified by the judge.

Bus Passes: Each offender is afforded the opportunity to purchase bus passes while incarcerated. The bus pass can be used on the day of release or at any time until the day of expiration. The bus pass lasts until 12:00 Midnight, once activated.
Offenders are released Monday-Friday at 3:00 PM, on Saturdays at 2:45 PM and on Sunday at 1:45 PM.
Discharge Clothes: The family members of offenders are allowed to bring clothes for inmates that are scheduled to be discharged within 48 hours. The clothes will be received from 9:00 until 6:00 PM Monday-Friday at N-building.
Weekenders & Walk-Ins
Please report to the Intake and Reception Center at 961 Sycamore View, Memphis, TN 38134.
If you arrive at the facility up to an hour late, you will make up that time on that particular weekend (the time will be adjusted by the courtroom). If more than an hour late, you will receive a turnaround slip and returned to court with a warrant issued for your arrest.
In addition, it is a requirement for you to follow all rules and guidelines. Failure to follow rules will result in an additional charge or; a Non-Affidavit will be generated and sent to the sentencing court requesting that your time is modified to serve the sentence continuously.
The guidelines listed below are required as you report to serve your time at the Division of Corrections. Failure to comply with the established guidelines will result in your non-acceptance into the facility and an affidavit will be submitted to the sentencing court in reference to your noncompliance.

If you are required to take medication during your incarceration period, it is mandatory that you contact the Division of Corrections’ Medical Department at (901) 222-8811 at least 72 hours prior to your arrival. You must provide them with the prescribing doctor’s name(s), pharmacy names and numbers. In addition, you must complete and sign the attached Medication Verification/ Medical Release Form. The medication will be provided by the medical department at the Division of Corrections. In rare, unique cases where the medical department cannot provide the medication; an exception may be made. The medical department will make this determination. However, all medication must be verified in advance.
